Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Appearing on stage forms
• Private sick notes

The practice does not charge for issuing prescriptions for private medicines or for private travel vaccines not covered by the NHS.

The practice does not countersign passport forms. This is because with the passport office increasing the number types of person that can countersign we believe you will be able to get it signed elsewhere for free. https://www.gov.uk/countersigning-passport-applications/accepted-occupations-for-countersignatories

Similarly the practice would prefer that GP’s time is used for NHS work and not private activity so it would be best if you were certain the work needs done and that it cannot be done through another service then staff will be able to advise you of the professional fees for the work at the practice.
