Ready Steady Baby! helps you get ready for parenthood by taking you through the whole of your pregnancy from the early symptoms, through the antenatal care you will receive and on to advice on how to get through labour and the birth.
It provides a rough guide on maternity leave and benefits and can help you with the care of your baby for the first 12 months.

Midwife Support
To make your first midwife appointment please use the online service at https://www.nhsggc.scot/hospitals-services/services-a-to-z/maternity-services/self-referring-to-maternity-services-spa/ or alternatively call 0141 232 4005 The midwife is a qualified expert who will help you through your pregnancy.
If you are under 16 weeks pregnant and have concerns about the pregnancy please call the EPAS line (Early Pregnancy Assessment Service) at the Maternity hospital at the Queen Elizabeth University hospital direct on 0141 201 2331. You may be asked to leave a message if the line is busy but the midwife will call back and offer a consultation, examination and scans if needed.
The general number for the Maternity unit is 0141 201 1100.
If you need help urgently such as heavy bleeding or severe pain then contact your nearest A&E Department, first calling NHS24 on 111.
If you are not sure about continuing your pregnancy call as soon as possible for sensitive advice and referral for termination if you decide to the Glasgow wide TOPAR Service (Termination of pregnancy and referral) on 0141 451 5433. It is based at the Sandyford Clinic.

Contraception, Tests for sexually transmitted infections, well woman clinics including menopause, The Archway Sexual assault service, Counselling, Gender Identity Service. Ring for an appointment to a one stop telephone number – 0141 211 8130 – between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Monday – Friday. Outside these times please call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent care. www.sandyford.org
