In addition to GP consultations the practice offers a wide range of special clinics and healthcare services:

Long Term Conditions (Chronic Diseases)

The practice nurses, in conjunction with the healthcare assistant and GP’s, offer regular check-ups throughout the week for a wide range of ailments including:elderley_BP_check

  • Asthma
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Hypertension
  • Heart Failure
  • Ischaemic Heart Disease (IHD)
  • Mental Health Problems
  • Stroke

These check-ups are by invitation.

Other Services

Travel Advice

Across Scotland GP's no longer deliver any travel vaccinations and the responsibility has transferred to Health Boards. Four travel vaccines are available on the NHS (Typhoid, Hepatitis A, DPT and Cholera) at no direct cost to the patient. Any other vaccinations will incur a cost to the patient as at present

Family Planning

The practice nurses offer contraceptive pill check-ups, contraceptive injections and the morning after pill Though for more effective emergency contraception contact Sandyford Clinic  on 0141 211 8130.  Please discuss your requirements with the reception team so they can arrange for you to have the correct appointment.

Health Promotion

The practice nurses offer a wide range of other health promotion services including smear tests, smoking cessation advice, weight reduction/healthy eating advice, blood pressure exercise referrals.
